Revenge of the Fallen...+ VACATION TIEMS

Saw it on Premier Day yesterday at 8. It was so EPIC!!!...up to the last 30 minutes.

Okay, breakdown. The visuals are lush and everything is way more fluid than the first movie. The Transformers get a lot more air time and actually speak more, however there are times when you can't quite figure out whose talking. This is because there are freakin tons of em! They seem to keep crawling out of the woodwork. Whilst this is what we all wanted it makes characterization confusing as random, no named characters say lines and established favourites keep mute.

The Autobots are a lot more bloodthirsty in this film, especially Optimus. Whilst this isn't a bad thing and a pure joy to watch, it sometimes gets to the point where you think the big guy may be contradicting some of his values. There's stuff in this film he certainly wouldn'tve done in the first movie.

Starscream finds his voice and character which will make G1 fans squee with delight. However, as previously said, a lot of the new characters barely get a word in. Arcee, for example, is so poorly underdeveloped; she has NO characterization and says one line. If you didn't already know it, you wouldn't have guessed from the film that she's a femme. She literally has no air time.

The plot of the film seems to be constantly switching, which is a bit of a downer. One minute the Decepticons want one thing and then suddenly it's another.

*POSSIBLE SPOILERS* DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS

The first 2/3 of the film is pure gold. It's when you get to the last stretch in Egypt that things start dragging.

For a start, the Egypt part of the film is just too drawn out. A lot of pointless air base chit chat and running from the CIA eats up a lot of air time.

When the fighting gets underway a lot of the characters suddenly disappear and are never seen again. They aren't killed. It's like they're forgotten. *Cough* Twins* *Cough* Wheelie* It's a major plothole that irked me for the rest of the film.

On a side note: My brother wanted to add that Soundwave raping a satellite and Jetfire farting were some of his personal highlights. Real mature, Zak. That's what I get for dragging him along. -_-

END OF SPOILERS. IT'S OKAY TO READ NOW.

This is pretty much how the last 30 minutes played out: hectic fighting, characters disappear, huh, what just happened? Awesome! Wait, what? TA DA! End.

I still loved it. I actually think it was better than the first movie, plotholes and all. It was funnier and focussed more on the robots and less on the humans. Well, usually. It was just hampered by the glaring plotholes. Still, everyone will no doubt love it.

My brother gave it a 3/5 and he's not that into it. I'd give it a 4 for being a fan. It's by no means perfect, but still a great film.

UPDATEY!

I finished my Race for Life event yesterday! The venue was running an hour late and they split groups up, which wasn't very fair. I was doing it with my mum, who had agreed to meet up with some workmates and do it with them. Well, they only went and brough a baby with them, didn't they? Because of that we were put in the "Pram" section of the race- at the very end. It went like this: Runners, joggers, walkers, prams. We started 20 minutes after the runners. -_- It took about 40 minutes because of the stupid pecking order. I'm also not very fond of having babies slow me down. But yeah, we did it, albeit much slower than we thought we would. I got my shiny Race for life medal to prove it.

Going back to Greece for two weeks tomorrow. We're trying a different island. Won't be able to get online whilst I'm away. Expecting the usual backlog when I return :XD:

Bye!
